Two dedicated personal training clients asked me back in 2013 a question for which I had no answer. The question: What can we eat for breakfast that is nutrient dense, low carb, satisfying and will fuel us with energy?
That question led me down a path to seek the answer. My journey took me to grocery stores of all kinds, reading the ingredients of power bars, cereals, and organic solutions to breakfast of every type. But nothing met my standards for being delicious, nutrient-dense, low carb, gluten-free, and all real food ingredients.
So I decided to don my chef’s hat and make my own! The first batches of Nut-Nola I made I gave to my clients to try out. There was just one problem. One of these two clients had a nut sensitivity, which meant that Nut-Nola would not work for her. So I went back into my small kitchen in my condo and created what is now Seed-Nola.
Both of these products were instant blockbusters. I couldn’t make enough from my small kitchen to meet the demand. It was at that point I became a food producer. I began making both Nut-Nola and Seed-Nola in a commercial kitchen, and brought them to farmers markets, grocery and specialty stores, and online shopping sites. It is enormously rewarding to know that more people can now both enjoy delicious food with integrity while promoting their well-being.
The journey continues to this day. Many customers have asked for a smaller, more portable package than our original glass jars. We are in the development stage to design the best package that will be both convenient and environmentally low impact.Stay tuned!
